The Perfect Submission Package
This is what a submission package should contain:
A nice looking submission letter. To see an example click the link below, which should, if I can get it to work, open up a pdf file (whatever they are):
To your submission letter, you need to add a blank postcard, with your address and stamp on one side and words of receipt of the other eg Received by Joe Bloggs Agency, A WONDERFUL MANUSCRIPT by Your Name. This should be popped in the out tray once your submission arrives, so you will know that it did. DON’T USE RECORDED DELIVERY!
Then add your large label with your address on. You will need to leave your envelope open so you can put stamps on this in the post office.
Use a paper clip to add on!
Behind your letter and add-ons, put your ONE PAGE SYNOPSIS. To see what a synopsis looks like, plus some advice on how to write one, click on the link below - I’ve worked out how to do it now and it will open in a new window.
Behind your synopsis, put your TITLE PAGE. Click on the link to see what one of those looks like (I’m getting the hang of this now!):
Put your title page on top of your first three chapters (or whatever you are submitting) and wrap an elastic band widthways around the whole lot. You can also put one lengthwise if you’ve got one to spare. DON’T USE STAPLES, STRING, TAGS, HOLE-PUNCHED FOLDERS or anything else - agents like their elastic bands.

GOOD LUCK!!
